The door creaked to a close and you found yourself hearing a certain male draw near you. The tapping of his boots stopped where you sat on his desk.

It was Levi.

You shuffled around and grinned at him but he only stared down upon your itty-bitty figure before extending his hand to you. “You'll be staying with Hanji.”

“Eh? O-Oh! Did Hanji say she wanted to take care of me? Ehehe...I actually want to s-stay with you, Levi...Ya know, for old times sake except vice versa..” Your cheeks began to heat up and your fingers intertwined from the shyness gathering in your belly.

“No. I want you to stay with Hanji. I have work to do.” His fingers pinched the little clothing you had on and lifted you into his palms. “W-Wha! But Levi!” He refused to respond and carried you away from his tidy room and into the hands of a mad scientist.

“Ah, What do we have here? {Name}, Levi! Did you two have a nice reunion and then decide to come party with me?”

Levi just stared into the lens of her glasses and sighed before placing you gently on Hanji's shoulder, to which you almost tumbled off of. “I want you to take care of {Name} for me until she grows to the appropriate size.”

Just like you, Hanji gave him a perplexed look. “Uh...Alright...I'll return her later tonigh-”

“Don't. I have to get back to work.” The door to her office closed and left you and Hanji stunned. Did he...not like you anymore or something?

Suddenly, he wanted nothing to do with you.

You were tossed aside like some rag doll with no purpose.

“Did you two argue or something?” Hanji must of detected your confusion and ultimately, your sadness towards his actions.

“No..It's like Erwin told him something and..”

“Ah. Yes, he probably did.”

“Eh?”

“Erwin is a good man, he really is...but he lacks emotion, I guess you could say. He has clear objectives and nothing, and I mean nothing, gets in his way. Even if a few men have to die in order for a certain goal to be achieved. He is all strict and structure. That kinda guy.” Her hues watched a flickering candle as she spoke but just like earlier, a grin appeared on her features.

“Which I believe is appropriate for what we have to deal with everyday!”

“I-I see...But Erwin was so kind to me when we first met. Much more gentlemanly than Levi..”

“Everyone says that! It's true but Levi has more of a heart than Erwin, if you can believe it...There's rumors that he stores the badges of those who died in his desk drawer. Namely, Petra's, Isabel's, Farlan's....People who were of importance to him. And there's a ton too. More than just the three I named.”

You didn't know those names nor the people who matched them but it...touched you. This must be a world of constant death...No wonder Erwin became a bit cold-hearted. It was justified that Erwin acted that way but...It was simply amazing that Levi held meaning in what they left behind even when death was so frequent.

He was secretly deep-hearted and probably had deep thoughts to match.

“The two are really strange. Both are very intelligent, even Levi who had no real education. But they are polar opposites. Levi looks like he should have Erwin's mind set and Erwin seems like he should have Levi's. Ah, but things are not always as they seem. Levi is extremely good at fighting titans and Erwin-..”

Her voice began to fade as you crawled off of the babbling woman's shoulder and marched out of the small door just in time for a few cadets to come jogging into Hanji's room with a bucket of ice water. All you could hear then was a big splash and fits of laughter.

Other than that, you were focused on not being killed...and maybe finding a bite to eat.  “Leevii!” You called out while glancing around the wooden corridor. “Le-...ah!” His door was cracked just a bit, enough for you to squirm in and find his office empty.

First thought: head to his desk. Curiosity gave you the bravery to climb up that desk leg and yank on the knob to the right of his chair.

One hard tug and the draw revealed the contents inside. Badges. Hundreds and Hundreds of them, some with blood rusted over the wings and some with rips splitting the wings apart. None had a name, not to you at least. But to Levi...they held importance..

“What the hell are you doing.” Oh shit. That was a growl from no one other than Levi himself. You were dead for sure.

“Tch. Stay out of my stuff.” The draw slammed and he plopped in his seat with a glare aimed right at you. “Go back to Hanji now. Here.” He ripped away some bread and handed it to your little hands despite the venom in his voice.

“Now leave.”

“Stop acting so distant...Ah~ Where's the love, Levi? We went on so many adventures together...this is no different. You don't have to-”

“Stop being annoying...”

“I'm staying right here whether you like it or not..”

“You really don't get it. You just making it more difficult. Once you grow back to normal, you have to leave here and return to your own time, got it? With that in mind, I want you to stay away from me..”

“W-why?!”

“Just leave...It's for the best.” He stood from his place and snatched you up like before even as you struggled and teared up from how harshly he was treating you.

He gave you one last look and told the laughing scientist that you ate and needed to rest so you could return home. She nodded as expected and Levi closed the door softly behind him.

Damn, he hated this...It wasn't like you had passed away...but it was the very thought of not being able to see you and fulling knowing you were alive that killed him the most. You probably had no idea that he cared the slightest for you....but the small packet of gum hidden within his pocket proved otherwise..He found it amazing that you had yet to realize its disappearance.

His hand slipped it into his desk as a sigh seeped past his pale lips. He was going to go insane if he kept thinking of you like this. You would have to leave soon and return home..and he would have to get over it like the deaths of the people he cared for...Your safety came before anything else even if you wanted to make your own choice..

To him, you staying in this world ruled by humanoids that ate people?

No, not an option at all.

Not to him at least.
Yaaay~ After a week I finally updated! Levi's feelings for you are growing stronger as much as he hates to admit...and you are being pushed aside for the sake of the both of you. But of course, you aren't going to remain strapped down. You actually have a choice to make and Levi can't have a say.

This chapter is probably really shitty but i had to make it to where reader found out about Levi's deep heart and Erwin's cold one. It all leads to the climax of the story which will happen in the next chapter!
